According to Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, this strategic move aims to strengthen the country’s technological foundation while nurturing the next generation of chip designers and researchers.
The initiative will provide students and academic institutions with access to high-performance computing resources essential for developing cutting-edge semiconductor technologies. This infrastructure boost comes at a crucial time when global demand for indigenous chip manufacturing capabilities is surging, and India seeks to reduce dependency on foreign semiconductor suppliers.
