SUNY Sullivan partnered with Sullivan BOCES on March 13 to deliver crucial artificial intelligence training to thirty regional high school educators. The full-day professional development workshop, held at the Loch Sheldrake campus, focused on practical approaches for integrating AI tools into classroom instruction.

The training session emerged from growing demand among teachers seeking guidance on navigating AI’s expanding role in education. Participants explored strategies for leveraging AI-powered learning platforms while addressing concerns about academic integrity and student dependency on automated tools. The workshop also covered ethical considerations and best practices for teaching digital literacy in an AI-driven world.

Organizers emphasized that today’s students need exposure to responsible AI usage rather than avoidance. By equipping educators with hands-on experience using AI applications, the program aims to bridge the gap between emerging technology and traditional teaching methods, preparing both teachers and students for an increasingly automated educational landscape.
