The Albuquerque Regional Economic Alliance welcomed a breakthrough announcement this week: Discovery 2 Scale (D2S) will open its headquarters in Nambé Pueblo. Founded by a Los Alamos scientist, D2S merges AI and robotics to modernize material manufacturing, promising over 80 high-paying science and tech jobs.
D2S’s platform automates repetitive production steps while using real-time data analytics to accelerate prototyping of advanced composites. This robotics-driven approach cuts costs and shortens development cycles, creating a live training environment for local talent. Employees will gain hands-on experience with AI-controlled machinery, positioning the region as a hub for next-generation manufacturing.
Regional leaders see the project as a catalyst for broader economic growth, linking cutting-edge research with practical manufacturing. “This investment validates New Mexico’s emerging tech scene and will draw additional innovators to the area,” noted an alliance official. The 80 new roles span scientists, engineers, and technicians, reinforcing the state’s commitment to a skilled, high-tech workforce.
