Labor Department’s AI Training Course Has Some Glitches

The Labor Department’s new AI literacy course aims to help workers navigate artificial intelligence tools, but our review found several concerning issues. While the fundamentals are solid, the course unfortunately misidentifies several AI products and services throughout its modules.

More troubling, the training links to external resources that provide questionable advice about AI implementation and usage. These external sources lack proper vetting and could potentially mislead users about best practices for workplace AI adoption.

Ethical concerns also arise from the course’s promotion of specific AI products without adequate disclosure of potential biases or limitations. Workers deserve better guidance that addresses both the capabilities and risks of AI technologies in professional settings.
